Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and therefore from March 2020 we implemented several changes, some of which we have kept in place.  During the periods of time the salon had to be closed over the last 16 months, we completed a Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry.  We have also updated all our Risk Assessments and Policies to ensure they are Covid ready.

Booking Appointments

With the ongoing risk of Coronavirus, if any staff feel unwell or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice.  We appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety.  If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Visiting the Salon

We are no longer legally required to log your name and contact number when you arrive for your appointment but doing so will support NHS Test and Trace to contact those may have been exposed to COVID-19, so that they can book a test.  We will therefore continue to display our QR code poster should you wish to check in to the salon.  If you do not have the app but want to check in, we have a system in place to record your contact details, which will be destroyed after 21 days.

We will continue with the increased frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets, door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products and hand sanitiser gels are available for use in every treatment room and at the front of the salon.  All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ and government guidelines for your safety

Masks will still be used by the therapists during your visit and during your treatment.  Any visitors to the salon are required by law to wear a mask, unless exempt.  All staff will regularly test for COVID and ensure hands are frequently sanitised.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at a minimum of 60 degrees C.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on the treatments we offer so that we can confidently continue to provide them safely. If any have been temporarily removed, we will notify clients and offer an alternative where possible.

During your treatment

We understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands according to Government and NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.  We also require you to use the hand sanitiser provided at the front of the salon when entering the premises.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  If you have any concerns about your treatments, please let us know and we will do what we can to resolve any issues.

These procedures have been implemented for your safety and ours.  We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
